It all started with “Hakuna Matata”- a Swahili language phrase from East Africa, meaning No Worries”. You might wonder why we began with such a phrase, and you’ll understand why in just a moment. In July 2018, while volunteering for a renovations program in Ghana, Hala and Nivine met. What are the odds of meeting someone who ends up becoming a life companion and business partner? Guess the odds were in our favor!
A Leap of Faith – After connecting and discovering each other’s interests to make a difference, Hala & Nivine resigned from their corporate jobs to follow their passion for social development. Little did they know that their upcoming experience in Tanzania for the next three months would open a new door, a door leading to bettering the world!
Zanzibar Here We Come! – From February 2019 up until May 2019, Hala & Nivine were exposed to several projects, from education, hygiene and sanitation, and environmental conservation. The one thing that stuck in their minds was how can such programs be applied in their home country, Lebanon? What problems should they start tackling?
From Vision to Reality – After being inspired by the African lifestyle that is based on Hakuna Matata and minimalism, a new door was opened! Hala & Nivine teamed up again and Two Better was established in 2019. After continuous development and research, Two Better grew to Paltic, shedding light on the importance of merging sustainability and design through giving a second life for plastics!
