Inspired by the essence of water, the Maji Table represents the fluidity and tranquility of the Earth element. Drawing its name from the Swahili word for water, “Maji,” this table mirrors the gentle and distinctive flow of the Zanzibarian ocean.
In a community-driven project at Beirut Public Beach, we took a hands-on approach to sustainability with local designer Dalia Bohsali, by completely renovating the swing sets, turning them into a vibrant, eco-friendly feature for children to enjoy. Through the dedicated efforts of our team and local volunteers, we collected over 200kg of ocean plastic waste. This plastic was then transformed into durable swing seats, blending creativity and environmental impact. The project not only revitalized the space but also raised awareness of ocean pollution and demonstrated how waste can be turned into a resource. It’s our small step towards a cleaner, greener future!
